I. Dry Grinding Process for Stainless Steel Coils
Dry grinding of stainless steel coils is a continuous sanding process without a water supply system. The entire production line does not add water or cutting fluid; grinding is completed by high-speed contact between the sanding belt and grinding rollers with the coil surface.
Feeding and Uncoiling: The entire roll of stainless steel is unwound automatically at a uniform speed, with continuous belt feeding throughout the process, eliminating the need for segmented cutting.
Dry Grinder Machine Unit: Multiple sets of grinding rollers perform coarse and fine grinding sequentially, allowing for the free combination of different grit abrasives to remove oxide scale, rolling black lines, weld points, scratches, and burrs from the coil surface.
Dust Removal System: A dedicated pulse dust collector for dry grinding collects metal dust generated during grinding in real time, ensuring a sealed and leak-proof recovery system.
Rewinding and Forming: After grinding, the coil is automatically rewound directly, resulting in a complete sanded coil without the need for drying or water treatment processes.
Ⅱ.Core Advantages of Dry Grinding Process:
* No water circulation equipment required, no industrial wastewater generated, meeting European and American environmental discharge standards;
* Eliminates drying and wastewater filtration processes, shortening the processing flow and enabling faster roll material processing;
* Smaller equipment footprint, simpler operation and maintenance, eliminating water pipe blockage and pump wear issues;
* Finished products are dry and moisture-free, reducing rust spots during warehousing and export shipping, minimizing customer defective product losses;
* Lower consumable consumption, eliminating the need for frequent water treatment filter replacements, resulting in lower overall long-term production costs.

V.FAQ
What surface finish can the stainless steel coil dry grinding machine produce?
- This dry grinding equipment is specially designed for matte and hairline texture processing only. It can make uniform NO.4 satin finish, fine wire drawing and coarse matte surfaces on stainless steel coils. It is not used for mirror polishing. Different grinding belt grits (80#–150#) can be matched to adjust the fineness of grinding lines.
What materials of stainless steel coils are compatible with dry grinding?
The dry grinding line supports 201, 304, 316 and 430 stainless steel coils. It can handle thin and medium-thickness coils from 0.4mm to 4.0mm. The grinding pressure and running speed can be adjusted for hard materials like 316 to avoid surface deformation.
What are the advantages of dry grinding compared with wet grinding for coils?
No water circulation system, zero sewage discharge, fully meets European and American environmental protection standards.
The finished coil surface is completely dry, free of water stains, yellow spots and oxidation rust during storage or ocean transportation.
No drying procedure required after grinding, faster production speed and higher hourly output.
Simple structure, fewer water pump and filter consumables, lower long-term operation cost.
